Aid to Lebanon

Now and again I get the feeling I am living in the twilight zone. Let me get this straight: Hezbollah (living in Lebanon obviously with the blessing of the Lebanese people and government) attacks Israel. Israel responds (rather weakly) and busts up part of Lebanon. The United States send aid to rebuild Lebanon. I am confused to say the least. Which side are we on? We can't be on both, they are mutually exclusive. I think Israel would be willing to allow muslims to exist but the reciprocal is out. So, we have some choices to make. We can go home and keep our noses out of the area and let them settle it once and for all. We can pick Israel as an ally and destroy any that attack her. We can wipe out Israel and let the camel jockies take over what is now Israel and ruin it. Or, we can continue pretending these age old enemies will get along. The last is a disaster. They won't.
